Full Complaint:
I received an ad to apply and pre-qualify for a American Express credit card, after going through and getting prequalify for three different cards I applied to only find out my application was denied. I contacted their customer service to go over the situation, they stated that because of my credit score my application was denied. This is something they were able to review when I went through the pre-qualification process and performed a soft inquiry on my credit report. This seems like a bait and switch to get a persons foot in the door with the pre approval and listing the cards that you qualify for them denying a person after they apply.
