I am an XXXX-American senior citizen who does not use the Internet. In fact, I have asked my son to help me file this complaint in this public forum. CapitalOne has been snail-mailing my statements late or not at all, then charging me $ XXXX/monthly late fees, for years, even though they acknowledge my payments arrive on or before the due dates. They say they’re processing them after the due date, thus requiring them to charge me these exorbitant fees. Since the inception of the card, I’ve been charged {00.00} in these fees ; ironically, my current balance is {00.00}. My son discovered this XXXX, duplicitous practice that exploits those like me who mail in check payments. To add insult to injury, they also refuse to lower my interest rate, which hovers above 20 %, even though I have a credit score in the high 700s. Do not do business with CapitalOne.

I called capital one 3 times in regards to why my Walmart MasterCard was closed because in the website on my account it says the account is restricted which I have never seen before. The Walmart MasterCard was owned by synchrony bank and then was sold to capital one in XX/XX/XXXX. Looking into my account my account was closed without my authorization or consent. I asked them why capital one said they were not sure why it was closed. I called on XX/XX/XXXX to have my account reopened, capital one informed me that it would take a couple days for a response. I got a call on XX/XX/XXXX from the capital one representative that my account/. Walmart MasterCard could not be reopened they could not give me a reason why. I was so upset I have had this account with synchrony bank for almost 6 years before it was transferred and sold to capital one. I am a new customer and do not appreciate the lies and unprofessional business that capital one has shown me on behalf of this unfortunate event. This is unfair. Now I dont have a Walmart MasterCard credit card and its closed when I had a {00.00} credit limit which hurt my credit because of this account being closed without my authorization. I will not do business with capital one anymore because of the excuses and lies that were stated to me.
