Dir Sir or Madam:I wrote to you approximately 11 months ago regarding a ‘Charge Off’ and delinquent activity being reported on my credit file from Citibank (CFPB Case No. XXXX). I received a response on XX/XX/XXXX, from XXXX XXXX denying my request to remove the derogatory information. In late XX/XX/XXXX, Citi shut down an overdraft account after I closed my corresponding checking account. At the time, I did not realize that there was a balance due on the overdraft. After the account was closed, I attempted to log on and ensure that everything was in order but was unable to access the account at that point. I called Citi and was told that they would be in touch. I was never contacted again. In XX/XX/XXXX, my company was in the process of securing a $XXXX XXXX XXXX loan for a XXXX XXXX XXXX project. The lender ran my credit report and found the derogatory information. I called Citi and they explained the reason for the status of the collections. I immediately transferred $XXXX to Citi to clear the balance. None the less, I was forced to resign from the company in which I was a 50% shareholder, in order to secure the loan.As of today, Citi is still showing the balance due and multiple associated late payment marks. In his letter, Mr. XXXX never mentioned receiving the payment of $XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX. Mr. XXXX also claimed that Citi had no record of any communications with me or of statements being returned. I cannot accept his claims since the company has an inability to even track my payment of the XX/XX/XXXX.It has now been approximately one year since I first notified Citibank of this troubling issue. My credit and business have been harmed and I would request that you assist me in dealing with this egregious lender. If the $XXXX is not corrected to be shown as paid and the derogatory marks removed, I will be forced to seek legal action.Kind regards,XXXX XXXX
