Full Complaint:
I had booked and placed two cruise bookings on XX/XX/XXXX with a deposit of XXXX each on my Costco Citi Card. These bookings were for two cabins on XXXX XXXX for a 7 day sailing from XXXX to Alaska on XX/XX/XXXX. There were two charges on my credit card of {0.00} because of the two separate cabins. In XX/XX/XXXX I cancelled one of the cabin bookings and received a credit on XX/XX/XXXX for my XXXX deposit. That left only XXXX cruise booking charged on my Costco Citi Card.

Subsequently the XX/XX/XXXX cruise was then cancelled due to Covid. XXXX XXXX did not provide a full refund after they cancelled the cruise. Therefore, I filed two separate dispute to get a full refund for the cruise which was the XXXX deposit and XXXX cruise balance ( charged on XX/XX/XXXX ). I was successful in getting the {00.00} refunded but still have been unable to get the XXXX refunded from Citi.

I first filed my dispute for the XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX. On XX/XX/XXXX they sent me a letter erroneously stating that XXXX had credited my account for XXXX. I told them the credit was for a different booking. After numerous phone calls trying to have the dispute re-opened, they requested I file a new claim. I filed a new claim on XX/XX/XXXX. I subsequently was told on XX/XX/XXXX that too much time had elapsed between when the XXXX charge was made and the opening of the new dispute claim.

Citibank made an error on my initial XXXX dispute sent on XX/XX/XXXX when they closed a valid claim on XX/XX/XXXX. Now Citibank is claiming I was late in making the claim when they were at fault for closing my valid XX/XX/XXXX claim.

I have attached all the documents to provide a history of what has occurred.

Full Complaint:
went on XXXX to open a XXXX XXXX account with an advertisement that showed a bonus reward for depositing so much money into the account. I set that appointment up to do so. Once there it took 2 hours of my time to set the account up. with all the personal questions of what my company does. how much will my company make in a year. what is the gross, what is the profit? where will the money be coming from. how do you intend to use the account? do you intend to receive or send wire transfers? just so many questions. copying all my personal info ie, drivers lic, social security number LLC Tin. and signing papers. to be told at the end the back office needs to look over the account and see if they can open it.
I think this is all a scam. false advertising. and to waste my time and risk me having to go into the bank with covid in high numbers was not how I wanted to spend my day.
I would like the CFPB to investigate citibank for false advertising.

Product: Credit card or prepaid card
Sub-Product: General-purpose credit card or charge card

Issue: Advertising and marketing, including promotional offers
Sub-Issue: Didn’t receive advertised or promotional terms

Full Complaint:
I received promotional materials to open a new credit account with 0 % interest for 18 months with Citi Bank. I accepted the offer and new credit account was opened. Upon using the card I noticed that I was charged interest. I contacted Citi Bank who said that the promotional rate only applied to balance transfers and they refused to honor the introductory promotional APR of 0 % for 18months. They refused to issue a credit for the interest they charged contrary to their promise of 0 % APR for 18 months. This was not clear and amounts abusive and deceptive marketing practices.

In response to letter dated XXXX XXXX ( Shop Your Way Mastercard Account ending in XXXX Citi Reference Number : XXXX ), My sears mastercard limit was lowered from XXXX to XXXX was never sent a letter telling me my sears account was lowered.I found out my sears credit was lowered when i used it at the the sears auto center for car repairs. That was embarrassing. In the letter dated XXXX XXXX, It states on XXXX XXXX my sears was converted to shop your with terms and conditions.I never received any paper work, terms and conditions, or opt in/out paper work, etc..It also states in letter dated XXXX XXXX, ” This was a business decision and there was no opt out option for our customers.
Please accept this letter as confirmation that this was a change in the account number and available purchasing options, but it is not considered a new line of credit ” .I do not accept this letter as confirmation on change in the account number.Recently, i called citi bank and spoke to customer service and spoke to ” XXXX ” CSR XXXX and i stated to her to produce all letters to me for shop your way card, sears lowering credit limit, etc., that was sent to me and XXXX stated that she cant produce that info to me.Also, there was no letter sent to me in XXXX citing closure of account.I totally disagree with citi bank
