Complaint Details:

Date of Complaint: March 12, 2020

Company Official Name: CITIBANK, N.A.

State: TX

Product: Credit card or prepaid card
Sub-Product: General-purpose credit card or charge card

Issue: Problem with a purchase shown on your statement
Sub-Issue: Credit card company isn’t resolving a dispute about a purchase on your statement

Full Complaint:
I do not agree with Citi Card ‘s merchant favor dispute decision and am filing a complaint. I would like Citi ‘s decision reversed and credit {0.00} back to my card.

I purchased {0.00} XXXX card from XXXX ‘s website for my mother-in-law ‘s birthday on XX/XX/XXXX. However, after receiving the XXXX card through email, I noticed the gift card was not valid to use on Friday, Saturday, or any holidays. So, on the same afternoon that I purchased the gift card, I tried to cancel this transaction immediately by calling XXXX restaurant ( the number on the website where I purchased the gift card ), however, they informed me that they don’t handle online XXXX purchases. This is done through a third company. The restaurant manager stated they have no way of communicating with them. She suggested I cancel the transaction or dispute charge with Citi Card. I followed her advice and started the dispute with Citi. I provided them with all information and documentation, and on XX/XX/XXXX, they resolved and closed this case in favor of the merchant. I have no idea why Citi sided with the merchant. I did not use the gift card, and there was no way of contacting the gift card issuer or returning the gift card. The virtual gift cards were emailed to me, and the sender ‘s email address is XXXX. These noreply email addresses are not monitored, and it’s useless to reply back.

I would greatly appreciate CFPB ‘s help in getting {0.00} credit back to my Citi card.

Full Complaint:
I have been trying to get more information regarding my credit card with Macy. I noticed that after months of payments where I was paying well above the minimum balance my debt was not decreasing. I contacted Macy to get proof of payments or a chart with my payment history. They did not comply, So i followed up once more and got the run around with them so i stopped paying the card in XX/XX/2019. They began to charge me late fees and have closed the account. I attached proof of my payments here to show the dollar amount that I was paying. Something they refused to present to me. I have no issues paying my debt, but I felt I was being taken advantage of by Macy ‘s here. I’ve attached statements from my bank account showing over {00.00} of payments that I made. The only reason I stopped paying was due to the lack of communication I got from them as they could show me where my payments were going, and I felt I was being taken advantage of..

Full Complaint:
1. I have paid off two Citi cards on XX/XX/2020, one for {0.00} and the other for {0.00}. I paid a total of {0.00} and paid by phone. The lady from Citibank took my money and told me that both cards were closed, apparently neither card was closed. Because Citi Card continues to debit my bank account. I believe Citi cards deceive and discriminate against XXXX cardholders. Because we are XXXX cardholders, Citibank Cards do whatever they like to make false statements to continue debiting our bank accounts, took our money from our bank account.

2. And also from the last statement I received from Citi Card, I did not see Macys transition statement from my account that is deception and false and fraud statement.
