We applied for a Sams club MasterCard through Synchrony bank on XX/XX/20. They gave us an unusually high interest rate based on an unusually low credit score. We inquired about the score and were told that they took the score directly from the credit reporting agency. When we obtained our score from the agency, it was 169 points higher than the number Synchrony claimed that they were given.
In a letter dated XX/XX/20, Synchrony reversed their story and claimed that the score used was correct because they used a proprietary score and that the score was in fact correct. There is obviously nothing on a credit report that would cause a score to drop 169 points below that reported by the professional reporting agencies. Synchrony is obviously using fraudulent scores to gouge customers with high interest rates.

Hello on XX/XX/2016 i field a complain with cfpb # XXXX it stated ” have a credit card from chevron we tried to cancel 3 months ago because one of our employees stole the rep we called didnt do it last week we got an email that we made a payment for XXXX which we didnt but it hit our account and cost us XXXX know there calling us about this payment which they posted with out our permission nothing was done today and with out notice the have us reported on all 3 credit burues that we owe XXXX dollars we dont owe this and they where informed that this card and others where stolen 4 4 years ago
