USAA has limited, basically blocked my access to their institution because of a credit card charge off, due to a divorce. I have many other accounts with them however I can not access all features of them due to this XXXX charge off. I pay my bills on time and the only negative thing is this credit card. I have since closed my checking and savings accounts with them, but have maintained all insurances with them. I have called USAA multiple times trying to access my information and they have refused to help me in this. Their only excuse is because of I have a credit card in bad standing with them, they have blocked my online and mobile access, and it is not possible to reinstate it until the credit card is back in good standing. This is humiliating, and a punishment from a bank. Absolutely ridiculous treatment to their military/veteran customers. We sacrifice and they discriminate. How is this even legal to do?

Soon after I filed for Bankruptcy, I was denied full access to the USAA website with the words ” According to our records you filed bankruptcy and we can not collect certain debts. To obtain access to your existing accounts you may log on by clicking proceed below. ” Printed in red every time I attempt to log in.
I am then redirected to a stripped down version of the website, basically a mobile site, with my full account information including full account numbers visible to the public when I check on my existing accounts.
They claim, they do this to limit the possible chance of USAA accidentally extending further credit to those who filed bankruptcy. I call that a lack of professionalism and they make their members pay for USAA ‘s inability to perform a minor task as USAA can accurately access any current or future member ‘s credit worthiness via the credit reports, as that is what they are used for ; they do not need to limit access and further humiliate their membership in such a way and continued practice will result in Discrimination charges against USAA. As they seem to be punishing anyone for falling on financial hardship and not being able to pay their debts.

Issue: Loan modification,collection,foreclosure

Full Complaint:
I am only allowed to have mobile access to my accounts with USAA. I am not allowed to have the access to the member benefits of a USAA member because I have a Charge Off Foreclosure. I requested XXXX modifications with them prior to and after my retirement from the military. They told me that I make to much and am not behind so I do not qualify for modification. Then after retirement I filed for modification and they told me I was not delinquent so I went delinquent on my payments and then refiled modification and was told I do not make enough money and I was delinquent on my account and do not qualify for modification. Now after auction, foreclosure and charge off 5 years after the fact there is no set time frame for them to punish me and not allow me the privilege and benefits of membership that others get. I was told today that they do not have a set time frame in writing.

This is the email I sent to them.

I Have a deposit on hold for XXXX dollars. I have not had a hold like this before and Have XXXX insure payments that I can not change because it is already in process. This is going to cause a problem for me. As such I have my payroll deposit coming thru on this Thursday and have a mortgage loan that will be pulled out that day that will be using some of this money. This is unacceptable and will be causing major problems. Its not like you have a ATM anywhere and i mean anywhere near me. The closet one would be in Georgia. You also can not cancel the deposit so I can go into my business bank account to get money out and then go to a store and get a money order and then find a ups store so I can deposit cash. because you already have that money tied up. Does this really sound convenient? I now have to try and scrounge up and hope XXXX that my insurance does not go thru and try to find some cash to go thru the task of putting some cash into my account. Come on guys/gals I have been a member for 15 years. There has got to be a better way really.
