Full Complaint:
I deposited {000.00} into USAA bank ( routing XXXX ) at the end of XXXX. A week later they sent a notification that my money was available. I wrote a {0.00} check to my local utility company. When my debit arrived, I called to activate it, and was told by the CSR that USAA was declining to do business with me. I ‘ve spoken with XXXX reps, who have rudely told me that my money would be returned to me when their investigation was done. What investigation? I have only been informed via marketing and advertising that my money is safe at USAA and to utilize their bill pay program. I ‘ve been locked out of my account online, and they are n’t sending me any XXXX mail informing me that they ‘ve frozen my accounts and wo n’t return my money until their investigation is done.
This is all I have in the world. I live on this money. I have rent to pay, a child to feed, until I find work. Please, please help me. They ‘ve been holding my money almost 30 days, they will not give me written verification that they are investigating me, and they have no reason to investigate me. They have basically stolen my money from me. FYI, they also informed me that I would be receiving a bill from them for overdraft fees or some such. How is that possible off a {0.00} check written from an account with {00.00} in it?
