I opened an online account with USAA in order to open a banking product with them. Unfortunately I did not qualify for membership with them. Upon realizing this I call them and asked them to cancel that online profile. They told me since I could n’t qualify for membership that the online account will be closed automatically. Well, months passed and I recently received an email from them in regard to an online agreement update. When I try to access online, the acocunt is still open. They never closed it. I call them once more and this time they stated once I create the online account it can not be deleted and my private personal information will remain on their system. I am not authorizing USAA to keep my private personal information and it is outrageous that they tell me they wo n’t delete it.

I previously filed a complaint XXXX which was resolved to my satisfaction by USAA ‘s XXXX XXXX. The resolution involved updating the 3 Credit Reporting Agencies with accurate information regarding 2 tradelines. After correctly reporting these to all 3 bureaus, USAA reverted to the prior incorrect reporting with XXXX and XXXX. XXXX remains accurate. I left phone messages with the person who previously handled the complaint, with no returned calls. Therefore, I am re-filing this complaint. Under the FCRA, USAA has exhausted the 30 day period to correctly post the tradelines and I am requesting deletion of both accounts pursuant to 15 U.S.C. 1681 ( a ) ( 1 ).

USAA SAVINGS BANK XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, TX XXXX I was rebuilding my credit and opened 3 credit cards XXXX, XXXX, XXXX ( was XXXX ) but they changed into a XXXX. XXXX {00.00} $ XXXX XXXX $ XXXX XXXX the cards did what they were supposed to do, I repaired my credit by having 100 % on time payments. I paid of the cards with the CD ‘s established to secure them. I thought USAA was really a XXXX XXXX XXXX ( I am a XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX Veteran ) As long as the cards were Maxed Out and I was making the minimum payment everything was great and I got great customer service. However ; my credit being repaired I have 8 unsecured cards, the secured.cards were no long need. I knew they were paying only .50 ( half a percent ) interest on my CD securing the cards, and they were loaning my money out for 11 -17 % to members of the CU. And I knew they were charging me 11-17 % on my purchases and more on cash advances ( 35 % ). BUT WHEN I PAID THE CARDS OFF! That is when I found out USAA did not love me and were not altruistic. The beginning of the TWILIGHT ZONE! That is where the problems started. 1. I asked for my refund on my XXXX to be deposited into my Checking Account, causing me to have to drive 180 miles round trip to pick up a {0.00} check. 2. I asked for my refund on my USAA Secured XXXX to be deposited into my Checking Account, causing me to have to drive to collect {.00} XXXX. I asked fo rmy refund on my other USAA Secured XXXX to be deposited into my Checking Account and they so far have refused to refund {0.00} to date. Giving me many excuses why they can not release my REFUND???? THEY ARE RETALIATING AGAINST ME FOR ASKING FOR MY OWN MONEY! signed

Company Official Name: UNITED SERVICES AUTOMOBILE ASSOCIATION
State: NY
Product: Checking or savings account
Sub-Product: Checking account
Issue: Problem caused by your funds being low
Sub-Issue: Non-sufficient funds and associated fees
Full Complaint:
My wife and I use USAA as our finachial institution for direct deposit, payment of bills and auto/rental insurance. The main frustrating issue I have with USAA is getting charged non-sufficient fund fees. I feel that NSF fees are thefts being made to consumers who are forced to use banks for making payments. It is unfair, it is unethical, it is wrong for USAA to steal from me ( and people like me ) and yet at the same time have a net worth of over XXXX XXXX dollars. I recently received three NSF fees : XXXX XXXX, 2017 CHK # XXXX {.00} XXXX XXXX, 2017 NSF FEE – ITEM RETURNED ACH – XXXX XXXX {.00} XXXX XXXX, 2017 NSF FEE – ITEM RETURNED ACH – XXXX {.00} I called USAA in regard to this matter and I was told that my account can no longer receive any NSF fee reversal due to NSF fee reversals in the past. I can not afford to have USAA steal {.00} from me in addition to the three company ‘s that I have revived fees from also.
