Company Official Name: UNITED SERVICES AUTOMOBILE ASSOCIATION
State: OH
Product: Credit card or prepaid card
Sub-Product: General-purpose credit card or charge card
Issue: Trouble using your card
Sub-Issue: Credit card company won’t increase or decrease your credit limit
Full Complaint:
I recently received an automated email stating there has been a change to my available credit on my credit card. When I accessed my USAA online account, I found out my available credit had been reduced my just over 80 %.
I have actively been working to improve my credit and I paid off the entirety of my balance just a few months ago. I have not missed a payment in years. I’ve had this card over 20 years, possibly 30 years. I’ve had worse credit. The only time I’ve had my credit reduced was when I requested to have it reduced years ago.
I spoke to XXXX, a XXXX XXXX at the company and she read the scripting over and over stating that periodically USAA runs the credit of it’s customers and this is their justification.
During our discussion, she stated they would not increase my credit limit and I could resubmit to have it increased in XXXX months. I shared that was not acceptable. I stated this was a manipulation from USAA to continue to keep my credit artificially low. I shared with XXXX I would file this complaint to you and our state ‘s attorney general office.
I paid off over {000.00} and carry a zero balance. My credit score has already dropped by over 10 points following this action.

Full Complaint:
I XXXX XXXX have recently gone through a great deal of personal hardship. This hardship was caused initially from a XXXX my husband had, along with his fight against XXXX. However, there are several credit cards where I was added on as a user only, and its time that I request the removal of my name off of the accounts of my husband XXXX XXXX. I also demand the deletion of these accounts from every pertinent credit reporting agencies, XXXX, XXXX and XXXX XXXX respectively. I believe its necessary to file my notice through the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, as I do not see these creditors working fairly or quickly. Accordingly, I request the deletion of these items from my credit bureaus and the purging of my information with each financial institution.
