I received a call from ( XXXX ) XXXX identifying themselves as USAA – for which I have multiple accounts. They said there was a ” change in my status ” and asked for my social security number, which I foolishly gave them. When they asked for my login information, I told them I did not feel comfortable giving them this information and would call USAA myself.
USAA can not verify that this is their phone number and I am worried someone has accessed my social security number. I would like to know what I can do to protect myself. Thank you –
