Full Complaint:
I was injured at work and finally received my impairment benefits through Texas workers comp. Unfortunately the insurance carrier did not submit funds to my current account and sent them to a closed account.
USAA then decided it was appropriate to tell me that my account was closed and charged off, which I was never given the opportunity to remedy the situation.
However they have deemed it appropriate to keep XXXX dollars of impairment benefits from a work injury which is federally protected from leins and levies. At this point I am so tired of fighting USAA for them thinking they are above the federal law and state of Texas laws about the funds they are choosing to recover. Exempt funds are exempt for a reason.
