I rescheduled a local rental out of desperation as I had just utilized excessive funds filing a motion against my ex-husband in a corporate dispute. I then drove by the residence a few hours and prior to check-in and it was in an unsafe neighborhood. I was not comfortable with my elderly mother and 87-year-old daughter living there. I attempted to cancel with the Host and Airbnb and I explained my situation. I appealed to them due to the emotional upset already in place due to the contentious dispute with my ex-husband. They refuse to refund me over 2500 dollars so I have resorted to a small hotel for the holidays. The check-in time was changed on the site as well as the times of the conversations with the host which were deleted indicating my cancellation requests. I never stepped onto the property and they refused to return my funds. I cannot book another rental on a reliable site for the holidays.
