The first contract I had with Vivint they refused to cancel, but I didn’t know they had not closed the account until several years later. A door to door rep came to our door several years later, we had just purchased a new home, we were told the old account was canceled and nothing was owed on the account. Several months later, while we still had our new account, the old account was placed on our credit as delinquent. The only reason we allowed them to put a new system in our house was because we were told Vivint was doing month to month contracts and at any point if we wanted to cancel all we would have to do is contact Vivint to cancel and return the equipment. When I called to cancel, I was told we had a 60 month contract and couldn’t return the equipment unless it was paid in full. In spite of the fact of what the door to door rep as well as the phone rep, who coincidentally no longer works for Vivint, they would not honor what we had been told. We had to get another system because, when we would have alarm activations, they were not contacting us. Nor were they calling police. I was told a clause in their contract allowed for that, which is fraudulent in itself, because that’s the purpose of having an alarm. I just want to return this equipment, have this removed from our credit, and move on. Dealing with this company has been a nightmare for my family.

Refund, and removal of debt that was sold to a creditor after being told the debt didn’t exist.
