Uber Customer Service Lied to Me

Uber Customer Service Lied to Me

Uber has been screwing me over ever since I started using their rental services. Uber states that it takes upwards of 2 hours to verify documents related to the vehicle. However, when I first rented a car through the uber/fair partnership, it took uber an entire week to activate the car. This meant I lost an entire 250 dollar investment and had to pay 200 dollars the following week to keep the car. I was unable to make any money and I was out 250 dollars because uber could not verify my car in a timely manner. Next, I rented another car and the same thing happened. Several days went by before they could verify the car’s information even though 2hours is what their customer support states as well as their FAQ page. I lost another 200 dollars because it took nearly 6 days to verify my second rental. Then I used several getaround hourly rentals and constantly had issues getting them verified despite the fact that with getaround verification was advertised as being automatic. I lost hours worth of time on hourly rentals because uber was too incompetent to follow their own verification guidelines. And now I have had a rental car for 2 weeks and haven’t been able to drive once during this pandemic. I’m burning through my savings trying to keep the car because no other cars are available for rent at a rate cheap enough for me to rent it. So if i turn this car back in I’ll basically lose it. I’ve spent 450 dollars on this rental so far and haven’t made a cent because uber has not verified the car. They claim the covid19 pandemic is slowing them down, but 2 weeks is a little much. On top of that, uber claimed there would only be a “delay” I’m verification not a week long drought of information or action, let alone two weeks. If uber had informed me of this situation before the rental I wouldn’t have rented the car. But uber is acting as if business is going on as usual allowing us to pay their partners while we’re unable to make money ubering. There wasn’t an ounce of warning that this could happen. At no time did the rental service say “rent at risk of loss”. So since I was uninformed and lost well over a thousand dollars due solely to Uber’s incompetence, I’m looking for some form of compensation.
