Mediacom Product Wasn’t What I Was Promised

Had to prepay for internet 1G is what I ordered. When I switched I barely got an upload speed of 100kb and download wasn’t any more impressive. I need 5mb to stream for gaming, I’m a professional gamer. After dozens of appointments I found out that the problem is everywhere in town. Mediacom doesn’t have the infrastructure to offer 1G service. They try to push the blame to Alliant energy saying it’s their rented poles they are the issue. It took mediacom 6 months to tell me they couldn’t offer me the 1G service. They said since I could still download, quoting how much I downloaded over the course of a month they couldn’t offer me a discount on the product. They forced me into a pay per use not pay for speed contract. I was paying 100/mo to download things as fast as I could with old dialup connections. They are claiming I owe them $1000 for the equipment. I offered them the equipment to them If they issued a refund for all the money for a prepaid service they ended up not being able to deliver. I had to miss work twice a week for 4 hrs a time to be there when they were working on my internet.

What would you like the company to do to fix the problem? (optional)
Refund my money as they came to get their equipment. Refund me for my lost wages when they knew they could never get me anything close to 1G plus interest for how long they held my funds for and to fix my credit since their collection company reported they j still owe them money.
