In Dec 2018 I called to cancel DirecTV service. It is noted in their files that they were having “technical difficulties” that evening. All equipment was returned & is noted as such. Because we also have cell service with ATT & both bills/accounts were on separate auto pay cycles with similar amounts being debited, we did not realize that we were still being charged for the cancelled DirecTV service for over a year. When we contacted them in Jan 2020, they stated they would start a case to investigate. We have called numerous times since, especially now they say we owe them & it’s going into collections. The amount they have taken from us is $230 a month for about a year. We have all the bank statements. I do not want this bogus charge to go into our credit report. We can the money refunded from the bank, I just want to stop them from saying we owe them money.
