AT&T Wrongly Sent Account to Collections or Impacted My Credit Score

On or around 2017. I added a line to my phone at ATT. I was talked into adding Direct TV. I was then told I was eligible for a bundle with digital life for $1.00 a month. When my bill came I was charged. I went back to ATT and was told the cycle required up to 3 months but the bill would adjust. After 3 months the bill did not adjust and I was sent to collections. I went back to ATT but the salesperson was no longer there. No one could assist as the matter was in collections. I tried to cancel the service. The equipment didn’t even work, and I was afraid to remove it and break it. I was told to call Digital Life. No answer. No reply. I returned to the ATT store on two occasions to no avail. In 2019 it appeared on my credit report. Now I’m stuck with a bill for the equipment and early termination fee for 942.00 that is highly impacting my credit score. I was recently denied an SBA loan because of this. I have no way to remedy it. My goal is to return the equipment to wherever it needs to go and get the debt removed from my credit report.
