Airbnb Claim for Compensation

Booked a house in Scotland 6/29 through 7/4/20. On 5/1/20 we learned that our flights were Cancelled. There are no flights to Scotland at this time, making it an impossibility to travel. UK also require all visitors to quarantine for 14 days through July. We had given a 50% deposit which Airbnb will not refund per host. I tried Resolution center, but was told that since my trip started after June 15 the extenuating circumstances policy would not apply to me. Air bnb has since extended those circumstances for a full refund for any booking that occurred before June 30, which mine was. However they are still refusing to provide me a refund since I canceled the reservation which is an oxymoron.
