Verizon Wireless Customer Service Lied to Me

Published on July 17, 2020

In February, 2020 I transfer my consumer account to my business account. I was told that everything was going to transfer over.
Once everything was transferred I no longer had access to a consumer account, website login, or even consumer app.

4 months later I see a Verizon Collection on my credit report lowering my credit 127 points. I called Verizon immediately and two times I was told that they showed a 0 balance. The third time I called they transferred me to the Recovery Department and was told that I needed to speak to Sequium Solutions which was a collection agency. I called Sequium and was told that they only collect balances on behalf of Verizon but they cannot do anything else as they are not contracted with Verizon to do anything but collect a balance. They don’t even report on credit for Verizon.

I called back the Verizon Recovery Department and finally was told that the balance was $128 because it didn’t transfer to my business account and that the people at the Verizon store gave the wrong information as not everything transfers. They said they can’t remove collection from my credit and there is nothing they can do. I asked to speak to a manager and they refused. After I demanded that I speak to a manager I was told that one was not available but would receive a call from one within 48 hours. 48 hours passed and no call from anyone.

Called Verizon again and I told them that for $128 I was not going to destroy my credit. I’ve been a client of theirs since 2011. I am willing to pay $128 plus whatever interest they chose in exchange of them removing the collection account but they refused. Again refused to let me speak to a manager and finally was told one was not available. I asked for their legal department and was told they could not give me the information. I asked for an escalation department, manager, legal, anyone and they refused to give me any information.

I am beyond upset. No one seems to know what to do. For being a customer since 2011 they don’t care. Plus I was never notified that there was a balance until it popped up on my credit monitoring.
