United Airlines Complaint

I purchased a round trip ticket from Chicago O’Hare to Phoenix Arizona on 10/15/2018. Due to a serious illness with a family member, I had to cancel the trip (planned for December 2018). United Airlines told me I would have a credit for future airfare for the value of the ticket which was $336.20. No time line or date was given but I was given a Confirmation Number for future travel, LGH10M. Two years later, I used this to book a plan trip and United then told me there was a 1 year date of use when this needed to be used. I have been working with United on this for years in the hopes that they would honor their initial promise. I have flown with them for years and this is a very atypical experience but very frustrating.

What would you like the company to do to fix the problem?
I would like a travel voucher re-issued in the amount they promised, the initial value of my ticket, $336.20.
