AT&T Claim for Compensation

What AT&T did:
I was charged a $275.00 non-return fee for a phone I did return (I have the tracking number). They then used my payment for my wireless service to pay the disputed fee and shut off my service for being late on paying the phone bill. I have spent many hours on the phone with att trying to resolve this and despite assurances to the contrary it doesn’t get fixed. I work away from home and the phone is essential to my being able to do so.
Tracking #(USPS) *********** **** **** **** **** **** **. Last case#287621917-8585. Note that we are in the 5th month of fighting this and it has been a waste of time to try to work with att by phone. I just spent another hour doing it, went through 5 representatives before getting hung up on during a transfer to the “unified billing dept” who were supposed to be the ones that could help me.
