Optimum Claim for Compensation

What Optimum did:
I called to cancel optimum on Oct 3, 2020 including cable/internet/phone service on Oct 3, 2020. My new service provider Verizon disconnected all services on Oct 3. I received an Optimum bill for service Oct 8-Nov 11 for $183.15. They continue trying to collect even though I cancelled the service prior to Oct 8. I’m receiving letters from collection agency threatening to damage my credit.
