What DirecTV did:
We had a 24 month contract with Direct. One of our boxes went out toward the end of our contract. They sent us a new box and we sent the old one back. There was no mention of a new contract with this issue. We cancelled the contact after our 24 months and moved. Did not receive any bills or letters from them and we had the mail forwarded. Now two years later they have turned me into the credit companies for more than 350.00. I have tried to call them but the young man was nasty on the phone and told me we had to pay it .
