What Airbnb did:
We checked into a condo in Miami Florida on 7/21/21. We noticed an odor that smelled like mold, but weren’t sure if that was what we were smelling. The next night we went to cook in the kitchen and noticed the dishes had the same smell. We were gone the next two days and returned late at night. Upon awakening Saturday morning we noticed that both of my children had a cough and I had a horrible headache. We stayed in the condo that day because it was raining and all started to feel very ill. My husband decided to investigate to make sure there wasn’t something in the condo making us sick and creating that smell. That is when we discovered mold in the doorways, roaches in the closet once we moved items and mold on our ceiling. I immediately notified the host and Airbnb. The boat called me and said he was sorry that we were experiencing an issue and what did I want to do. I explained I would talk to my husband. My husband said with the children being sick, we would need to leave. On the phone Fernando said if I would like a refund. I messaged him and said yes that is what we would need and that we could not stay another day there. The owner came to the property and apologized and watched us leave with our suitcases. I contacted Airbnb on 7/24 when mold was discovered and they just called me on 8/9/21. They are telling me I cannot receive a refund because I did not report the first day I got there and SMELLED the mold.

What would you like the company to do to fix the problem?

A full refund. We had to book a hotel for kids to be able to stay in area for concert and we booked another Airbnb to be closer to airport.
