AT&T Claim for Compensation

AT&T Claim for Compensation

What AT&T did:
So I’ve been paying my bill for almost 6 years on time. I got sick in June and I’m still not able to work because of my condition. I paid my rent, bills and even my att bill. But I missed two months because I haven’t had any work because of my condition and it’s been a long time waiting on social security benefits. They charged my card and took the last bit of money I had which was $490 after I’ve canceled my subscription and sent the box back. They says it’s a late fee for bringing the box back so late but that is not true. I dropped the box off at ups immediately after canceling. They should have never taken my money

What AT&T did:
Near the end of June 2021, I persuaded my son to switch from his wireless provider to AT&T as a second line on my existing AT&T wireless account. He was going to be in Europe for a month and I thought AT&T had better international plans than his provider offered. He selected a new phone and we modified my service to add his phone number on an “unlimited extra” plan for $65/month. I had trouble adding the new service online, so I had to speak to an AT&T sales rep to set things up. I had seen the explanations of the Passport add-on for international calling and inquired about adding it on. I explicitly confirmed the understanding I had from reading about it: there was a one-time $70 charge for 30 days of the same unlimited calling/texting as the domestic plan with no roaming fees and a cap on data usage. My son made calls with this understanding from June 25 through July 26, a period that covered 2 billing cycles. I was then surprised by phone bills for his line over $200 for the last week of June and around $340 for July. We were charged 35 cents/minute for all phone calls my son made in Europe, as well as $18.67 for the Passport add-on for June 25- July 2, $70 for the Passport plan for July and $70 for the Passport plan (listed on the bill as recurring) for August. I added up the unexpected charges ($70 for Passport beyond the 30-day period, $29.75 for June roaming charges, $156.45 for July roaming charges), a total of $256.20. Due to life circumstances, it took a while to find the time to get through to AT&T customer service to understand the charges (partly because I spent many hours dealing with them for an unrelated internet service fiasco in July). Earlier today I spent a couple of hours speaking to 3 AT&T customer service employees. The first offered to deduct $80, so I said this was not sufficient and asked to speak to the loyalty department. The woman I spoke to there, after lengthy discussion, offered to deduct the roaming charges of $186.20 based on the rationale that I had been misinformed. When I asked why she would not also deduct the extra $70 for Passport for the August billing cycle when no calls were made she said she could not do that, so I asked to speak to someone who could. That person said he would take off the $70 fee but not the roaming charges. When I pointed out that the previous person had said she would take off the roaming charges, he said I did not accept her offer to do so, that was her personal offer and he would not honor it. I said I never told her I did not accept her offer, nor did I say I wanted to pay the roaming charges. He went ahead and processed a credit for $80 (he didn’t explain why $70 went up to $80). I made clear to him he did nothing to inspire my loyalty and instead made a very long-term AT&T customer very unhappy.

What AT&T did:
AT&T has charged me over $1500 for 5 phones that I am not aware of starting 7/13/21. I put in fraud case with them over two weeks ago with no response as AT&T promised it would of been within 5 days after my claim was submitted. As a result my account was suspended. My account got hacked and validated by someone I do not know and they stated they cannot remove the lines because someone else validated the transaction. I need this debt removed from my account ASAP and those phones removed.

What AT&T did:
At&t sales rep signed us up for a business account without our knowledge.
I was told out monthly payment would be $150 per month with my phone credits and veterans discount but my first three bills were OVER $600 each and now my regular bill is about $260.
They said if I change my account now to a personal account, I will lose my credit of over $2600 that they gave me for my phones that I traded in.

Rep lied to us and never told us what he was doing with our info.

Change my account to a personal account from a business account and give me my credits for my phones traded in and my veterans discount for my bills.

Especially a refund for all the extra monies I was overcharged because of their employee defrauding us and falsely signing us up for a business account.

I’ve wasted hours and several days trying to figure out the problem I was having only to get no where. Anytime I got to pay my bill with any debit card I use it won’t work. Now I have a huge phone bill and I’ve called and gone in store numerous times. They now suspended my account because of an issue they couldn’t fix. My phone being of has cause many problems in my life at the moment. Hopefully I can get some help with this situation.
