What U-Haul did:
Good day I was very upset with U-Haul service on Aug 21st 2021 we have used uhaul frequently to go from Walsenburg Colorado to Alamosa from Alamosa to Denver and from Denver frequently from Denver to Walsenburg to our first choice market we usually use the truck share app about 2: weekend prior I was attempting to get a 10 foot truck from Denver to Walsenburg Colorado they couldn’t guarantee that there was a truck available so which leads us to our current rentals . Something is very fishy with the way this transaction was handled we had the 10 foot truck again it never ever costed what we paid normally if we had the truck for 2 days it was never more than 250.00 that’s for 2 days this time sane routine got the truck was back in Walsenburg in less than 24; hour’s nothing wrong at check in at first choice Walsenburg market ,the bill was 553.00 for one day what is what is wrong with this something is not right I they need to fix this because I smell a rat inhavrb to he reservation and bill if you need it

What U-Haul did:
I was told 18 cents per mile and then after returning the truck they charged me 99 cents per mile. I was told $19.95 a day and was charged $240.87. Today is August 28th 2021 I rented the uhaul at around noon and returned it at 5:50pm on the same day, filled out the questionare, and pictures which showed there was no damage to the truck and it was returned, we had estimated 200 miles at 18 per mile and only used 143 miles, they charged $240.87

What U-Haul did:
Did not perform service as promised (safe, climate-controlled, clean space), and as a result irreparably damaged personal property stored there. Several items had significant water damage from an unknown source (including boxes of collections of books, now destroyed, infant mattress ($299), mold as a result of the ensuing dampness on wedding dress ($2000), suits ($600), formal attire, original artwork. Vermin feces, urine, fur are found in copious amounts and have damaged and rendered unusable an infant bassinet (SNOO $1495), thousands of dollars of silk and dry clean only clothing. Plastic coverings of soft upholstered furniture and valuable “marimekko” pillows were chewed through by vermin necessitating either specialized cleaning or the items discarded. The entire unit needs to be emptied using biohazard equipment which is time consuming and personally dangerous. Seeking damages of personal property and returns of total rent paid on unit from June 2020-August 2021 for lack of performance.
