What T-Mobile did:
T-Mobile home internet service is false marketing in Phoenix AZ using a zip code web checker to attract potential customers into signing up for a no contract plan promising 5G high speed only to be disappointed by less than dial-up modem connectivity. Victims aren’t able to discontinue service by phone, webchat, email, or in-person and left with the monthly surcharges and hardware cost to pay for a lemon, amounting up to $1000 per account. It takes 4-6 weeks to receive the router, which doesn’t work and requires contacting customer service to update and troubleshoot to no avail, taking 2-3 weeks further and still not resolving the problem and offer to ship a replacement unit at more delay, potentially paying 3 months out of pocket still without internet service. The store can only help victims sign-up and unable to assist with discontinuing or taking back the router returns. T-Mobile hasn’t provided a return label for where to send the device back to in order to stop the billing.
Class action lawsuit if other similar behavior cases exist from T-Mobile.
