What AT&T did:
A few years ago, AT&T was advertising a BOGO (buy-one-get-one-free) deal on the Samsung S8. I went into the store to get my wife a phone originally just to replace those, but they baited me into the BOGO so I told them that I would just get her phone that day and think about replacing mine. They said that I had 2 weeks from the purchase date of her phone to add mine into the offer. I came back around 12 days later and they claimed that they added it onto the BOGO. About 6 months went by and I realized that the 2nd phone payment had not been taken off of our bill like they had stated it would after approximately 3 months. I called AT&T about 3 times on it and eventually it ended up that they said that they would escalate the case to another department and they would contact me for further details. They never did and I ended up paying full price for both phones instead of just one. The sum of the cost is around $600.00 give or take $25/month for 24 month on AT&T Next Plan.
Another issue is that I went to go get myself and my son a smart watch back in March of 2021 and they sold me the watches and put them on my account. I originally wanted just one watch for my son so that he could use it as a stand-alone watch acting as a phone so that I could call him from my phone. They once again were offering a BOGO on the watches, so I decided to get two watches. Towards the end of the sale, after they had already added the watches on my account and charged me, the salesman proceeds to tell me that the watches do not work on the AT&T network as a stand-alone watch which was the whole purpose of me getting them! They went through a whole process of calling Samsung for tech support to see if they could somehow get them to work. Anyway, long story short, I ended up returning them that day and they told me to wait approximately 2 months of bill cycle and the charges would come off of my bill. The NEXT Plan payments of $51.81 came off after April, but I am still being charged for Network Access fees of $10-$15/month for both watches.
