Gold’s Gym Overcharged Me / Hidden Fees

What Gold’s Gym did:
Golds Gym displayed banners “OPEN 24 HOURS” and “$10 a month. No catch. No kidding.” The gym was not 24/7, there were actually more days they were not open 24 hours than were. Once I stopped in, about a year and a half ago for the $10 a month ($120 annualy) membership. I was met with $5 dollars bi weekly ($130). This was somewhat sketchy, but I was okay. Then after digging, I uncovered a $39.99 Club Enhancement Fee and 2 16.99 Account Maintenance fee’s. That was the most affordable plan they offered, which totaled up to 203.97 for the year(70% higher than advertised). The public reads that there will be a gym available to them for 168 hours a week (24 hours), at $10 a month ($120 a year). This is false. What you are getting is a gym charging 70% more than advertised and is open only 82% of their advertised time. When I left a public review of this practice, rather than take banners down. They hid my review and purchased a billboard for the $10 a month promo. Also, there is an intentional convoluted cancellation practice, in which they state you have to be there during a certain window of time to cancel, and that they need you there for a digital signature? Or you must use the mail in process, when memberships can be authorized at any time with modern day convenience.

What would you like the company to do to fix the problem?

Refund to those who signed up for the $10 a month promo, and my entire charges back, seeing as that was never part of their plan, and they never offered that to consumers. Rather they were given the bait and switch technique across the board. Removal or correction to public marketing materials to reflect a deal that consumers can get.
