AT&T Claim for Compensation

What AT&T did:
They’re charging me for services i didn’t have. They waited till i switch carriers and then They sent me a final bill of $164 . I called and explained i shouldn’t be paying for services i didn’t have or was using and the person told me, i had to wait till i received a paper in the mail then call the number. A few months went by and i received a debt paper telling me I’m going to debt for $164. I called and they told me if I pay half they can dispute the rest. Then I receive another email 2/3 weeks later saying i owe . I wasn’t going to pay anything at all because i wasn’t using the services at all but i thought i guess i can just pay half so it wouldn’t be posted on my credit.
