What U-Haul did:
My complaint is against tge Uhaul on HWY 377 & Hwy 820. For 3 weeks the elevator has been broken with no access to the top floors. I am 66 years old and was informed there was no time frame when the elevators will be repaired but until then I need to take the stairs.
I opened my uhaul account in January 2021 and this same lady gave me a storage that was already occupied. There was no extra large storage available so he gave me a large and a small storage to compensate for the mix-up. However, this new incident has me upset because at my age, I cannot walk up stairs.
I just got out of the hospital with Covid, on short term disability and needed to consolidate one of the storage. Unfortunately, because of this situation I am stuck with paying for storage I can no longer afford. This woman had no remorse for what I was going through and put me out the store. She alsothreatened to call the police on me just for asking her why the elevator was not repaired for 3 weeks. I explained on 8/9/2021 uhaul will be expecting a full payment and is not going to deduct the weeks I did not have access to the storage. I believe I was discriminated because I was a elderly black women seeking justice. That is no way to talk to a customer who is trying to figure out when she can get access to her storage. I believe 3 weeks is longer than necessary to repair a freight elevator that customers must use. This complaint is against Uhaul and their employees 2 women on July 24, 2021. As of today I am not able to access my storage. I need help resolving this issue immediately.
