What DoorDash did:
The pickup policy stating that one must go inside to pick up their own personal order (that is already paid for and only requires being passed out of the window) needs diminishing.
It would be somewhat understandable if the order required paying for, sorting out out of stock products, or if there is a long line in a drive they that may be impacting traffic safety. However, a customer who places an order for pickup so that they can run through and grab the food with as little contact with others as possible (i.e., social distancing during a pandemic) should not be forced to go inside of the restaurant, placing themselves and everyone they come in contact with in danger (e.g., young children – too young for a Covid-19 vaccination).
