Airbnb Claim for Compensation
What Airbnb did:
We submitted for a $690.68 refund (after receiving multiple on phone assurances from the host they would refund us) via the airbnb platform the same day (nov 26) as soon as we realized upon arrival that the unit we rented for two couples (4 people) + dog was only one bedroom room (one queen, one couch will a twin pullout) not the one that had been advertised on airbnb (6 beds, two rooms and a kitchen!). After allowing a gracious two months for a refund, i further escalated the issue using the airbnb platform in January. I never heard back from airbnb or the host on the platform. I did not know they had other means of contacting me (they sent emails to an old email address), and would have expected everything to go through their dedicated platform as is done for all other airbnb issues. After again attempting to go through the airbnb platform in august 21, they informed me the time had past for a refund. Airbnb never contacted me directly on their platform between Nov-Aug, but the platform said the refund was/still is being reviewed. I would just appreciate a refund for a rental we were not able to use.
