What Airbnb did:
I recently hosted a guest named Allison *****. Her reservation was from 6/12/22-6/19/22. On the second day of her stay the AC unit went out completely. At that point she was required to contact AirBNB within 72 hours of becoming aware of the issue which she didn’t. She instead booked a replacement with another company under my name and stayed the whole week costing me an additional $2,408.06 (i.e. in addition to the full amount I was paid through AirBNB) which I was forced to pay. Put another way, she violated AirBNB’s express policies and it cost me money, the same as if the violated any other policy like partying or whatever and it cost me money.
I never authorized her replacement property and I need to be made whole. I have attempted repeatedly to try to go AirBNB to resolve the issue but their incompetent staff is ridiculous and just keeps closing my tickets without actually looking into the issue.
