ADT Claim for Compensation
What ADT did:
Adt system is faulty and has been since a few months after installation. Window and door sensors have dead batteries and as soon as they are replaced they start dieing again a few days later. Adt has not been cooperative or helpful. I have asked to cancel and they say they cannot do that. They want to send someone out to replace batteries again, which I had to pay for a technician to come out and replace batteries. I do not want to do this again seeing as it did notake a difference the first time. I am paying for a fualty alarm system every month and being told by their customer service that there is nothing they can do because I am locked into a 5 year contract for services AND have to pay monthly for the faulty equipment for five years too. I now do not have the funds to purchase a security system that actually works. I feel unsafe in my home and feel out of options and trapped by ADT.
I was told by the installation tech about 8 months ago that I can cancel anytime and that I only had to pay for the equipment for one year. I would have NEVER agreed to a five year contract and I would NEVER pay 50$ a month for equipment for 5 years that will only work for ADT services. It does notake fiscal sense. I was lied to and tricked into this contract and I want to cancel with no penalty.
