ADT Claim for Compensation

What ADT did:
Installed CCTV cameras 9/21 and was already a customer at the time. The sales representative downgraded my adt security features for a better price with out telling me (at least in a way that I understood or was very vague about what he was doing). On 9/22 I called to see if I could change my dvri box from a 4 port to a 8 port so I could add more cctv cameras in my home. ( sales representative did not explain all of my available options, the only reason I knew of the 8 port dvri is from the tech who installed my system, also the one that told me that my system was downgraded.) After spending the better part of 3 hours trying to upgrade and was unsuccessful in even speaking to someone that could help, I made the decision that I no longer wanted to be a customer of theirs. So I called back again and spoke with someone regarding cancellation. They told me they would have to run an investigation and that a manager would call me in 24-48 hours( again this is on Thursday 9/22) I did not hear back by them by Monday 9/26 so I wrote an email to the customer service department stating I would like to cancel. They told me I could not do it over email and I would have to call over the phone. So I again called and spoke to someone on 9/26 stating I wanted to cancel. Again they told me the same thing they did on 9/22.
They then told me that they see I have an open investigation and they should be calling me soon. I then wrote another email on 9/29 stating that I have not heard from any one and that they have 48 hours to contact me directly so we can resolve the issue or I would be getting legal involved. It is now 10/1 and I have not heard back from them.
What are my options? I know I have a 3 day period after the agreement and installation. I called on day 1. They have been avoiding me and not allowing me to cancel.
Please help,
