Airbnb Claim for Compensation
What Airbnb did:
I stayed at a home in Big Bear from 10/6/22-10/8/22 that was fraudulently represented in the ad. I paid $4,126.50 for 3 nights in what was supposed to be a “completely, newly remodeled” home and it was not at all remodeled and actually currently under construction. The host met us there where she used explicit language to bad mouth other guests who had caused her to lose her Super Host status (which she had when I booked) and proceeded to tell us that her spa did not pass inspection and we had to watch out for the unsafe conditions of the room that was under construction. There are numerous other issues that I reported to Airbnb customer service and they ended up declining to offer any refund and then removed the review I had wrote because the host used my attempt to get a refund as a cause for violating the Airbnb review policies. The owner initially offered a 50% refund with the stipulation that I not submit a review, as I was told by the Airbnb agent via their messenger. I declined, asking for a full refund and on account of wanting to leave a review.
