Dr zinsser Complaint
What Dr zinsser did:
I had Abdominoplasty on 2/1/23 after my initial consultation where Dr. Zinsser described that the procedure would be very beneficial to me to improve my appearance in addition to my health (removal of hernia and improved back). He used drawings to demonstrate a visual of my final results and advised that I’d be “*******” once healed. He advised i would be able to return to work 2/17 with minor restrictions.
My immediate results were painful and I had very apparent swelling and bruising. As weeks progressed I communicated how badly I felt. All of which went ignored. On 2/22 my belly button started bleeding non stop. Additionally my incision began bleeding non stop. I contacted Dr. Zinsser and he told me nothing was wrong and I needed to allow it to drain. He also advised that I go to his office and advised that I not contact a different doctor. On 2/23 I went to St. Mary’s ER where they ran tests and swabbed the site. Per the ER physician, she did not treat me based on Dr. Zinsser’s instructions. They didn’t clean the incision or bellybutton nor did the rebandage it. I was told to walk to Dr. Zinsser’s office to meet with his nurse. I was advised by the nurse Kayla ***** to simply continue to clean and bandage the site. On 2/ 24 I was contacted by the ER via phone who advised the culture returned from my visit and I was diagnosed with a double infection at the surgery site. The ER told me to return to the ER to obtain antibiotics by IV. Dr. Zinsser (who can see the ER note) advised not to go to the ER and that I don’t need IV antibiotics; only over the counter. On 2/25, my incision opened as a result of the infection and I am now left with 2 holes in my stomach. Dr. Zinsser advised I would need to undergo another surgery and pay more money to have his error corrected.
