What Citibank did:
Citibank sent new billing for $95.00 annual fee in January. I called them to cancel card. The account retention person suggested I use miles to pay annual fee and keep account open. I agreed reluctantly. In February I was billed again, account not paid. I called again, this time I ordered four $100 Lowes cards seeing that Citibank did not close account. I then called back up and insisted account be closed or I’d take further legal action. This time account did close. I’m still getting called and billed for annual fee on finally closed account.
