What Verizon Wireless did:
Verizon Wireless opened an account for mobile services without my permission. The initial call was to get a Quote only for mobile business lines with Verizon Wireless, but instead they opened a whole account using my personal and business information which is identity theft and a breach of my consumer rights. I found out about the account being opened upon checking my business email at the time, where there was said to be a balance due which sparked a RED FLAG and prompted me to fully research what had happened and I called into the Verizon Fraud Department to get the account closed and bring the issue to their attention. The account they opened without my permission ends in ******** and the business EIN they attached it to ends in 0165 for my company ********, LLC. I spoke to reps Addison and Gwen in the Business Fraud Department for Verizon on 6/26/2023 about 5:00pm-5:45pm CST to confirm all of the details of the account that had been opened without my permission. The agent Addison was a bit more detailed, she said the account Balance was $92.00 and that it had been officially closed. She said there was an application initiated on 1/4/2023(which again, I was only gathering information to get a Quote only to potentially open a Business line of credit). She said the account was marked for Fraud on 3/2/2023 and 4/12/2023 and that the account was effective or effectively closed on 4/28/2023.
