What DirecTV did:
I was offered a $200 promotion for signing up for cable service in January of 2022, along with a 3 month free trial of premium service channels (like HBO). After five months of service I called to inquire about the $200 Visa card that never came as well as to cancel the premium HBO service. I was guaranteed that the premium channels were cancelled as of that date (May 11th, 2022) and was told the $200 credit would be mailed. DIRECTV Stream never cancelled my premium channels and charged me $53.99/month for the last 14 months, and they never mailed me the promotional $200 Visa card. Even escalating the issue via phone customer service they see in their system the notes regarding my May 11th, 2022 phone call but refuse to honor the promotion or give a complete refund of the unwanted, already cancelled premium channels. The total amount I was overcharged was $755, plus the $200 gift card, totaling close to $1000.
