What PayPal did:
I used my PayPal account to create and send a customer an invoice for a project I am building for him. The customer paid me 50% of the invoice as I requested as a down payment to get the project started. The money was taken from my customer transferred into my PayPal account. I then withdrew the money from the PayPal account into my business checking account. PayPal then decided several days later to, without notifying me take the money back in the form of a reversal. when I called chase bank to inquire why this was happening they could not stop it nor did they have any information from PayPal why they were doing such a thing . I then proceeded to call PayPal and they did not know why the money was taken out of my account either . I told the customer representative that this was unacceptable and that I would need the money put back into my account. He said there’s nothing he could do. I went online to the account again and PayPal asked me to submit my Social Security number and a picture of my drivers license, which I did. They then said they were going to take up to one business day to review the documents. These documents were submitted well over a week ago. There has been no resolution, multiple phone calls have been made to customer service at PayPal and no one seems to be able to understand why the restriction hasn’t been lifted. Nobody understands why I was never notified that they were going to take the money back out of my bank account . This situation has caused my business to suffer damages and now we are unable to complete my customers project until the money is returned. The amount of the reversal was $2,086.54.
