What Optimum did:
8/22/23 I spoke to an optimum customer service rep who stated she can lower my Optimum bill if I opened a mobile account. She stated there would be a free phone and no charges, yet I would get additional $15 my statement. This was false information and I was charged for the phone and monthly account bills. I contacted mobile customer service many times and spent hours speaking to reps and managers who promised to fully reimburse every charge and I should return the phone with the label provided. Weeks after the phone was returned on September 28, I still did not have a return. I contacted them multiple times since and was told it is being escalated and they could not close the account in order to process my refund. This caused another cycle to be charged to my credit card for a phone that was no longer even on my account or in my possession. Every few weeks of following up I am promised it is being escalated, yet I keep getting additional bills and no refund which was promised two months ago. Now I am being told they are billing me the restocking fee (also, manager never mentioned that) and that I will have this charged to my credit card. This company is fraudulent.
