What Optimum did:
When I moved houses – but kept optimum as a provider – they told me (multiple times I heard this from multiple people) that I did not need to reuse or return the old equipment, that they would provide me new modems, etc. Then they charged me $500 for not returning it! They even admitted their mistake (since they have it in their customer support records that I was told this) but STILL have no way to remove the charge, or so they say. Obviously they can but they are just @#$%&! me around.
