Yes, An sales rep was in my area scouting out leads for homeowners for home security. Well they knock at my door and introduced me to Vivint. I explained to him that I was not really interested. He insisted that I try it out for a few days to see if it may be something I would like. I agreed. The installers came in and installed the system. He had me signed some papers without sharing anything concerning it. I received this little coupon that I had up to 3 days to try it out. We felt that we were tricked into this 5 year contract. We are disabled and my husband has PTSD. I am 62. Vivint played on my husband’s fears and told us the amount that we would pay per month was only $20. It was $40. We were not told it was a 5 year contract. We are both on disability from Social Security and so are on a very fixed income. Salesman also went into my account and overdrafted me. Vivint salesmen also pushed their way into our house on a Friday night after I had had a few beers. They clearly took advantage of us at a vulnerable time. We signed on a 3 year contract with vivint a little over 3 years ago, we had trouble starting the first night, the salesman showed up at about 6 or 7 pm on a school night and we had a total of 4 “techs” out that night trying to get it all installed and finally left around 2AM ON A SCHOOL/WORK NIGHT. The first contract I had with Vivint they refused to cancel, but I didn’t know they had not closed the account until several years later. A door to door rep came to our door several years later, we had just purchased a new home, we were told the old account was canceled and nothing was owed on the account. Several months later, while we still had our new account, the old account was placed on our credit as delinquent.
