A customer service rep told me I would not get charged at all while my account was under freeze, and then they sent me an email with fine print saying otherwise and are only acknowledging the email.

On January 2nd, I went to 24 hour fitness to sign up for their 5 day free trial. The sales rep put me through a long process of putting in a deposit and signing up for a membership which included payment/documentation on the spot. I did not want to participate, as it didn’t seem like a free trial. To my understanding, you had 5 days to come back in person and cancel any future payments, and it was not viable for me as I would be moving to a different city shortly afterwards. Cancelled family membership in person but continued to charge us every month up to a little over $1000 total fees until finally they cancelled. Called 5 times, promised a refund but still no refund provided.

They told me my mother was on month to month in the gym and now they’re telling me she was signed up for a 12 month commitment – I never authorized that the sales rep said it was month to month. They also psychologically traumatized my 3 year old toddler when they closed the kids club, he was attached to his caregivers and trying to move to the super sport the kids club employees there discriminated against him and shamed him for playing pretend animals. it was so hard on him and his safety zone being removed that he started setting himself in direct correlation with the kids club closing and him losing valuable people in his life, the workers assured me his caregivers at that location would

Put me on a contract didn’t ask for. Only went once. Tried to cancel charging me 480 to cancel for contract I didn’t ask for. Only option giving me is to freeze contract. But still charging me monthly fee have to call in to get money back then getting charged by my bank over draft fee. Top it off when I’ve walked in to complain they’ve questioned my intelligence & customer service also seemed to think it’s something to laugh at . It’s just unacceptable. In January of 2019 I went to my local 24 Fitness to cancel my ex-wife’s gym membership. She had not used the gym since November of 2018. I had a child on the account, but I wanted to transfer that child onto my sole account, which I had prepaid until end of 2019.
