    Airbnb Claim for Compensation

Booked a house in Scotland 6/29 through 7/4/20. On 5/1/20 we learned that our flights were Cancelled. There are no flights to Scotland at this time, making it an impossibility to travel. UK also require all visitors to quarantine for 14 days through July. We had given a 50% deposit which Airbnb will not refund per host. I tried Resolution center, but was told that since my trip started after …

Airbnb Customer Service Lied to Me

I had 2 reservations for New York for May 2020. These were substantial reservations as the apartments were 3 and 4 bedrooms for 10-12 days each as this was a business trip for trade shows and events. I got concerned and nervous about covid and the potential for no refunds. I accessed the AirBNB site and initiated the cancellation process during which I was informed I would receive refunds of $6598.70. After cancelling I received email confirming that refunds had been sent to my VISA card on file. This was 2 months ago. AirBNB said that there was an error on the website and the email was wrong. I should receive $0 and they are not paying. I cancelled on 3/28 and on 3/30 they …

I booked an airbnb room in Paris for July 2-15. Booking number HMAQC2WQHC. I canceled my reservation due to COVID-19 on May 28, at which time they only reimbursed me 50% even though it is impossible to travel to France. They are claiming that their policy in effect at the time May 28 did not cover July reservations, even though I am giving the host a full month notice.

    Airbnb Claim for Compensation

I cancelled my reservations on March 8, 2020 based on the COVID-19 pandemic. My vacation was supposed to be March 11-16, 2020. Before cancelling Airbnb notified me that if their extenuating circumstances policy changed within 10 days that I would be eligible for a refund. It changed on 3/14. The policy they put out on 3/14 (I have a copy and it states: Existing reservations made on or before 3/14 with a check in date of 4/14 or earlier and with at least one night occurring between 3/14 and 4/14 are covered) covers my stay. I asked for a refund and have been denied twice and then they offered me a credit for 130.94. This has gone unresolved for over 2 months. It’s time for a resolu…

    Airbnb Claim for Compensation

A guest held an unauthorized party, during the Pandemic lock down. We never allow parties even before they became illegal. This guest said she was coming alone. The police estimated that there were at least 100 people in the two bedroom home when they arrived. The neighbors told us that there were several fights that spilled into the street before the police arrived. There was a stabbing.

The damage to the unit was more than $10,000. After three weeks of back and forth with Airbnb personnel who changed on a daily basis and would only communicate via email, they paid us $510 for painting damaged walls and then they went dark. They refused to explain why all the other proofs of damage and…

I made a reservation on 13 March for 17-19 April. A shelter in place was issued for California by the Governor on 19 March. I cancelled my reservation at this time. AirBNB will only refund 50% of my charges in accordance with their policy. I cancelled because it is unlawful to travel or to operate a non essential business like a AirBNB stay during this time. Essentially, to honor my reservation and non essential travel – Airbnb is asking me to break the law and disregard public health mandates during this pandemic.
