I was under the impression that once they took over my nelnet loans I only was responsible for keeping up with the company and no longer nelnet. But now us dept of education has taken my whole federal taxes but I was in forbearance with Navient. If they were on top of stuff why is the dept of education even involved. Then they have doubled my loans

I had a student loan with Sallie Mae. In 2008 my grandmother paid my loan in full as a gift to me as she was dying from Cancer. My mother who was helping her called Sallie Mae and was told what the exact payoff was for that day plus interest for days of delivery for the check to get to them. I have a copy of my grandmother’s account with my loan number plus it stated my name and student loan paid in full. I never heard anything from Sallie Mae since. Then 2 years ago I received a past due amount of 13,400 dollars that I owed them from my student loan that I had with Sallie Mae. I called and told them my loan was paid in full in May 2008. University of Phoenix purposefully withheld information from me that caused the exhaustion of VA GI bill benefits, and additional school loans by effectively doubling the time that I needed to attend schooling.In addition, I have been unable to find employment with the “University of Phoenix” tag associated with my resume.

They over claimed for my financial aid then sent the and back leaving me with a debt that they are now using to withhold my transcripts which I need to finish my enlistment.

when i applied to ashford, the associate told me that i would have enough in financial aid to also pay for a laptop and internet. i informed the associate that i did not have either one. the associate assured me that i would have enough funding. when courses started, i had no funding left to do anything. i was struggling to try to do classes on my smartphone.

I wanted to cancel my classes because I had a life changing event that would take make school impossible.I spoke with my advisor and he told me to post in the class once and then he could remove me. Because I made the post instead of not i am getting charged and sent to collection for the balance of that class

they said I stopped taking the course.. but I had a family emergency (gave proof) my instructor wanted to give me an “I” so I could complete the course next semester.. they would not accept it now they want me to pay $2000 + for a course I never completed.. and it’s gone to collections.
