I canceled my membership on Oct.15th,2019, however, on Oct.18 my bank history showed me that I was overcharged about 700 dollars from La Fitness. I called them but they said even if I canceled my account the personal training contract is still working. It does not make sense and I asked them when is my final term and they said it’s Nov.12, 2019 and I can’t do anything but take it. However, my bank account was still charged over 700 dollars in total in December 2019 and Jan 2020. It really does not make sense. I have all the screenshots from La Fitness’s customer service from Gmail.

I have been trying to cancel my personal training program with LA Fitness for the last month. I have been told by four employees that the District Manager is the only person authorized to cancel my program and would call me. I have not received a phone call from the District Manager. I received a call and set up a time to speak with the manager on 1/19/2020 at 11:00AM. They were ten minutes late to the meeting, with another client, and told me they would text the District Manager and have him call me back. When I told them I wanted a read-out of my account with notes they told me to leave.

In December upon my last visit to LA fitness in Tarzana, I suffered an arm injury caused by an improperly cut locker assembly, apparently, LA fitness needed to cut a lock left on a locker box with a bolt cutter leaving an extremely dangerous and razor-sharp piece of metal protruding – due to the negligence which could have been prevented by la fitness I ended up with a 4-inch gash on my left arm – upon asking front door desk they had only a small bandaid and some antibacterial ointment – I bled on the interior of the car before I could get medical attention.

They fired my Master Trainer and breached the contract and then refused to let me out of the contract or charge me a lower rate for the regular trainers. I threatened to sue them and they tried to smooth things over, but the way that they were speaking to me at the club itself was very rude and disrespectful. Even though they were not able to provide the service that I am specifically paying for, they wanted me to keep paying. I had to travel out of my way and try to use up all of my sessions. I want to sue them for all of the inconvenience that I experienced. I asked them for a copy of my contract and they refused to give me one and said that I should have kept the one they gave me when I s

I spoke with Cole from LA Fitness in Springfield, IL who signed me up for personal training. I was very upfront about having crohns and may not be able to complete the year contract and was told that if I had a doctors note they would cancel the contract no problem. I have given them 2 different doctors notes and they were rejected. My vitamin levels have been so low that I’m in risk of passing out while working out. I have not used my membership in 3 months but am paying $280 a month for it. I am sick and have missed work for it
